Men should always wear suits...

I like it when a man's suit trouser leg rides up when he sits, and the shape of his ankle is revealed through his slightly bunched socks. Men's ankles, are truly marevlous things and you never get to see them in jeans or drainpipes.
Human beings are funny. They long to be with the person they love but refuse to admit openly. Some are afraid to show even the slightest sign of affection because of fear. Fear that their feelings may not be recognized, or even worst, returned. But one thing about human beings puzzles me the most is their conscious effort to be connected with the object of their affection even if it kills them slowly within.

Quite possibly, the only sensible and true thing Sigmund Freud ever said. Well done, Sigmund!

Stockings.

Stockings excite me. There's nothing more sexy and classy than stockings. Plus, they are less restricting than tights and perfect if you're going for the all out vintage look.

Kiss me deadly...

In my opinion, modern stockings are rubbish and ladder far too easily. If you're going to buy a pair of stockings, either opt for vintage or shop somewhere like http://www.whatkatiedid.com/ or http://www.kissmedeadly.com.uk/ (Personal Favourite) They have stockings down to a 't.'

1949 Nylon ad.

The most common type of stocking heels in the 1940's and 50's was the Cuban heel which is a sqaure shape. The other, popular type of heel was the 'point', invented by Christian Dior. (n.b. will be making a blog about Dior's post war New Look collection a.s.a.p)

Christian Dior.

I am the proud owner of a 1940's vintage seamed stockings (Cuban heel), bought in 69A, one of my favourite shops since the age of 16. Unfortunatley, one of them has wandered off somewhere, but all is not lost. I bought them September 2008 and they are one of my favourite things to wear. They were only £5, so I am buying another pair. I also crave a bullet bra. I've been dying for one of these ever since I saw "The House on Haunted Hill" (starring my one true love, Vincent Price) as one of the leading ladies was sporting one.

You said it, Regina Spektor, you said it.

This is how it works , You're young until you're not , You love until you don't , You try until you can't ,You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh , And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath...

No, this is how it works, You peer inside yourself, You take the things you like, And try to love the things you took, And then you take that love you made, And stick it into some, Someone else's heart, Pumping someone else's blood,And walking arm in arm, You hope it don't get harmed, But even if it does, You'll just do it all again.

Might I add that Regina Spektor is one of the most beautiful women EVER.

Robin Hood.

I don't think anyone can comprehend how excited I am for the release of 'Robin Hood' directed by Ridley Scott. I've always liked a good old battle sequence and Scott has made some of the best, in 'Gladiator' for example. It's one of my all time favourite movies. Some might consider this love of sword fighting, bow and arrow weilding men to be a manly sort of thing to enjoy...I would possibly agree. But hey, who makes movies FOR men...I mean, my boyfriend loves (worryingly as I haven't even seen it in it's entirety) Mean Girls. So why can't I find excessive joy in Lord of the Rings and the likes. "HURHHH." (that's my manly-macho noise.)
