Sienna Miller

I love Sienna Miller, especially in 'The Edge Of Love.' She's so beautiful. Oh and Keira is beautiful too. mmm :)

Skin Whitening Products.

Last night I watched a really eye opening programme on Asian girls using skin whitening products. I found it quite sad that these girls see that 'pale is beautiful.' Asian girls are beautiful anyway! No-matter what shade colour they are. It's sad that we all feel that we need to be a different colour skin to be beautiful. It's exactly like the way English girls tan themselves. It just provokes the question, why can't we be happy with the skin we're in?
I'm naturally pale as anything and I love it. I've never wanted to be any different even though the fact i'm practically a ghost isn't exactly fashionable!

LEMUR.

Today I stroked a Lemurs Tail.

1947 Kodak.

On Sunday, I visited Carew Market in Tenby and purchased an antique camera for 50p; a bargain Dickinson would have been jealous of. The man who sold it to me had a big white beard and looked somewhat lof an eccentric. He told me i'd just bought ''a peice of history'' and it turns out I have. It's not as old as i'd have liked, but it's a 1947 model non-the-less and I plan on putting it to good use.

It has a vertically striped front; metal wind knob and release button and holds a 620 film. It's influenced me to begin collecting antique camera's. I plan on buying a Victorian one next or a 1987 Kodak model. And thus, the obsession begins. I also bought a vintage bag and an antque lighter which needs a new flint and more fuel. The lighter was 50p and the bag was £1.50. Bargain, bargain, bargain.

I'll put some pictures up when I get a chance. The camera came with a little brown satchel too:)

Back to Basics

I have been knitting. Yes, I may have dropped a few stitches here and there, and there may be a few holes, but give me a break, i'm only learning! ;)

“I don't want to read about some of these actresses who are around today. They sound like my niece in Scarsdale. I love my niece in Scarsdale, but I won't buy tickets to see her act. I sometimes feel that I'm impersonating the dark unconscious of the whole human race. I know this sounds sick, but I love it. ”

:| A REMAKE?

Whilst looking for pictures to upload of House on Haunted Hill...I stumbled across something which actually made my heart sink! They re-made it. In colour, using pretend goths, fake blood and a man with a moustache, who isn't Vincent. This only backs up what I said in my last post about modern horror. It has about as much creativity as a pea. In fact, i'm positive that a pea is more creative, and far less violent. I'm seriously, very shocked. I'm going to take a look at the trailer and see how they've destroyed it. :( Oh it's very much destroyed, blood gore, the works of modern day horror. *sigh* Although, it is safe to say, it shall never replace the orignal.

Here's some comparrisons :

Vincent.

I have lost the will to live with all of the work I have done today, so I decided to find some refuge in ''House On Haunted Hill'' starring Vincent Price. Now, is it just me, or are horror films these days nonsense? They're not true horror, they shock and sicken the viewer instead of frightening them. I know that ''House On Haunted Hill'' is not bone chilling to the modern day audience as it was in but I can't help but feel that they should make horror the way they used to. House On Haunted Hill houses the tagline ''The 13 greatest shocks of all time!'' and I must admit, some of it is still a tad scary now! Especially the bit where Nora belives the old blind house keeper is a ghost. It is a dreadful shame that Vincent can't play the lead anymore though. I personally think he is a wonderful actor and he has the most perfect voice! Perfect for that creepy, sinister role. House on Haunted Hill is one of my favourite movies, and Vincent Price is my favourite male actor. If someone was to buy me the Vincent Price Boxset for Christmas, I think I should cry with joy!

His moustache, might I add, only adds to his sinister appeal!

Affordable Vinatge Fair.

I'm less than happy that I missed this due to no money for clothes and I would have gone for a browse except for the fact it was £2 each to even go in! Just as if! However, I did find where it was...and quite by chance might I add. I saw a ''building I liked'' and went down that road. It was as if I was drawn to it;) On the plus side, I now know exactly where it is for next time (I've been there before on a University Open Day too) and I have plenty of time to save up for some wonderful vintage finds.

The next event is on the 5th of December. I'm assuming it's at the same place...YES! It is. The Engine Room, John Moores SU, Maryland Street. For those who know where Scream is, it's just next to there.

'Bargain' buy? I think not.

My recent purchase of this rather wonderful vintage Picnic Basket is still very pleasing. At £15 though, I'm not so sure it was what one would call a 'bargain' but it's a little more than perfect and it still has that wonderful musty smell! I bought it last Friday on Lark Lane for the picnic I went on on the Saturday. Courtesy of my friend Ell, that beautiful skirt in the basket was to be worn on that day too:) It was once a dress believe it or not! She is I must say, rather multi talented and a wizard with needle and thread, which is why she is most definatley taking my pleated blue dress up and in and the neckline down down down!

Sing it again Sam...

''She met a man about whom she'd heard her whole life. A very great and courageous man. He opened up for her a whole beautiful world full of knowledge and thoughts and ideals. Everything she knew or ever became was because of him. And she looked up to him and worshiped him... with a feeling she supposed was love.''
